Past Years' Data Files

Below you will find links to prior years’ YRBS data sets and data guides. We have provided the files for all years regardless of weight status. If a data set is available in a format for a certain year, there will be a file extension in the box next to the file type and under the year.

Click on the file extension to open the file. To download the files, right-click (or option-click if you are using a MAC) on the file extension in the table below and save the file to your computer.

All components are not available for every year due to changes in the reports and improvements in technology over time. As a result, past years will have only the ASCII-formatted data sets. SAS, SPSS, and MS Access datasets are only available in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

* An unformatted and unlabeled SPSS data file is available instead of the Syntax file for 2003.
